What we added…

A couple of new pages we have on our site are:

Featured Graduate – We like to showcase our grads who are out there rocking in massage. Our first one is Carla Johnson. Check her out.
Employers – It’s a service to hook up LMPs with current job openings. The idea was initially to help out grads but why not help out everyone? So it’s open to any LMP looking for work.

Also, check out the video’s we have and will be putting up.

Let me know what you think and how we can help you.

Stay well,
Tim

The Newer New Site

My thanks to Brad Moore and Joey McGraw at SignDog media for creating our new site. Their creative ideas, design savvy, patience with me throughout the whole process and programming skills were more valuable than I can express. It’s always nice to have people you work with communicate quickly and clearly. That’s my experience with them. Contact them if you need assistance with graphic design, web design, copies, and signs that will make your business stand out from the competition. www.sign-dog.com
Just tell them what you want.

Stay Well.

Tim

Not About Massage!! Well kind’a…

For those of you who don’t know – due to a crazy accident I was in – my partner and I have a new website. It’s Scarbook.com. It’s a venue for people to tell their stories about how they hurt themselves. It isn’t for everyone but check it out.  It is also a way to raise money for Camp Phoenix, a camp for severely burned children. Check out our advertisers. That will be helpful.

We are throwing ScarBash on October 24th at the Raw Space, a brand new arts and entertainment center in Ellensburg. Due to limited space, it’s an invitation only event. A way to get an invitation though is to upload a photo of your scar and tell your story. There will be fun had by around 300 of our closest friends.

The vague connection to massage is the phenomenal way massage is able to break down scar tissue and increase the flexibility of the injured area.

Advanced Techniques

Hi. Here is the first of several quick video clips of advanced techniques.

Passive Positional Release

Trigger Point Therapy

Cyriax Crossfiber Friction

Post Isometric Release

Recent Graduate is Rockin’…

Jessica Jones who graduated in November is on fire right now. She has been  has been doing about 14 massages a week. That is phenomenal for someone who has been out of massage school for only 5 months. On top of that she is getting her esthetics education at Bluestone so she will soon have two licenses to serve her guests. Keep up this pace and you won’t be able to sleep in again. Well maybe, you’ll be able to sleep in more often with all that cash in the bank. The luxury of choosing where you sleep in is always sweet too. Paris or the Tuscany region are pretty nice I hear.

Congratulations for taking your education and running with it.

…one of the best choices I have made…

Hi.  My name is Trevor Rockney and I am a current student at the
Barlen Institute of Massage.  I have a background education in
Kinesiology from Washington State University.  Upon graduating, I felt
a draw towards physical therapy and began my studies in that
direction.  After a month in PT school and realizing first hand this
was something I did not want to spend my life doing, I really began
searching myself for what appealed to me.  I knew I wanted a career in
a health care field and I knew I wanted to be able to work hands on
with people.   During my time in PT school we did a three hour class
on the basics of massage.  I really reflected on that and I felt
compelled to take my life in that direction.  As it turns out, this
has been one of the best choices I have made in my life.
I browsed for the type of education that I wanted to receive and I
looked for a program that would suit my learning style best.  The
criteria I was looking for included a small class size, hands on
experience, and a step away from the traditional learning environment.
I came across BIOM through my searching and it offered me exactly
what I was looking for in the way of an education.
As I reflect today on my studies at BIOM I could not be happier with
the choice I have made.  I expected to get a hands on experience and
learn about the field of massage. So far I have received not only what
I had expected but more. I have been accruing the knowledge base to
apply what I have learned into any avenue I want to pursue in the
field of massage be it working for someone else, owing my own
business, or being an independent contractor.  Through an openness and
yet independent approach to learning, BIOM has literally provided me
with all the resources I need to be successful and enjoy what I do
with my life professionally.
On a final note I just want to say that the instructors at BIOM are
not only knowledgeable, but are happy to share that knowledge with the
students. Through the mere five months I have been a student at BIOM I
really cannot say enough about the education I have received so far
and the impact it has had on my life.  So I say, if anyone is
interested in a great education and want to learn from very
knowledgeable and caring instructors, than you may want to consider
BIOM.

Thanks Trevor for taking the time
